Gmod- What do i need.

What files should i download before i start playing gmod.

 

I'm looking for guns,skins and cars.

 

Plus i need a good tut to teach me where to put the stuff.

It depends on what server you are going to play.

 

Most servers have this (click the word):

You can find lots, but lots of more addons on this website: http://www.garrysmod.org/

 

There is almost always a readme.txt included, which helps you installing it. With 95% of what you download there simply needs to go in your steamapps/MyAccount/Garrysmod/Garrysmod/addons folder, if you don't have that folder then simply create one.

i got skin files and model files.

I want to wear the skins so do i put them in add ons?

and it has a text file. it goes in addons?
