VirDeBello Posted March 17, 2010 Content Count: 1755 Joined: 06/06/07 Status: Offline Share Posted March 17, 2010 I am looking for a replacement cell phone since my other phone that was supposed to be as good as the iPhone failed at that part. I was thinking of waiting for iPhone G4 but that will be a bit expensive and not be avaible when I get back. So I was thinking of getting the G3 one. Or are there other phones that are better then this? My main reasons of getting it are the apps. They have skype and yahoo and e-mail and basically everything I would like in the palm of my hand. So should I just wait for the G4 or perhaps go for the cheaper G3? Link to comment

The apps are very convenient in many aspects aviation for one.. it has a lot of info right there on the tip of my fingers... typing on it is a breeze now after a month of use... I dont see why not getting it! The only drawback of it is its battery life... but then where would you find so much performance with much more bat. life I dont know Works great with ATnT for me... great reception. no call drop. clear voice I dont see how the phone aspect of it could be better:crazy: Link to comment

I have not seen the Nexus or touched it, so can't say go with that. BUT it's that time again for Apple around June or July (can't recall) will have a big announcement about a new phone or tweaked version. (4G?) So get a 3Gs or wait to see what they bring out. Better than the Ipad for sure... they might be hurting the market of one with the other.. Link to comment
Itch Posted March 17, 2010 Content Count: 3440 Joined: 12/12/07 Status: Offline Share Posted March 17, 2010 For some reason I have been known to be anti-Apple. And I would still highly recommend an iPhone The one Apple product that I will vouch for is the iPhone 3Gs. I am one of those that had constant disconnect problems with AT&T and poor signal. I have a relative that works for AT&T and found out the the problem I was running into was that there were too many 3G customers for AT&T's network in my area. With the iPhone when I am in the area that there are problems I can have the phone fall back to the Edge network and no longer drop calls. There are a wide variety of apps and many of them free. I have used a G1 before and prefer the iPhone to it. I have also used windows mobile based phones and have to say there is nothing worse than having to reboot your phone almost daily. So the iPhone get's a big As for 4G don't expect it too soon because the network just isn't in place in most places and there really isn't a point to having a 4G based phone that is primarily used on a 3G network. I wouldn't consider it a reason to wait. You could always sell the 3Gs and upgrade when the network can handle it. Link to comment
VirDeBello Posted March 17, 2010 Content Count: 1755 Joined: 06/06/07 Status: Offline Share Posted March 17, 2010 The Nokia N900, I was looking up phones and found this beauty, yes its a bit bulky but I don't mind that at all. The hardware and software are totally there. The iPhone is closed OS and open to apps and all that other shit but the N900 is Maemo OS which in basic terms a mobile Linux OS. Which is open everything. I did alotta research on this phone and its backed up by a community modding the hell out of this phone. A good decent amount of apps perhaps not as many as iPhone but I think this is a iPhone killer personally. I am gonna get this instead of the iPhone, the specs on it are much better then the iPhone. Only things that the iPhone have is the friendly user interface, its already established as a good product with apps and all that other stuff but also advertisment. Oh yeah and it has the AT&T network while the Nokia N900 only has Verizon and T-Mobile. Think Ima go with the Verizon but I know T-Mobile has really good coverage back in NJ but not too sure about El Paso Texas...... Link to comment
