Crimson Posted March 21, 2010 Content Count: 5303 Joined: 05/20/08 Status: Offline Share Posted March 21, 2010 So, recently my Graphic card broke (Hence my activity has gone down). So, I went out and bought a new one, I put it in correctly but whenever I power up my computer, it crashes. I've been told that the driver is causing problem. Thing is, I can't get into Safe mode or anything. My old graphic card is fried, whenever I plug it in and plug my screen, it doesn't read that its there. So, I can't get to the desktop or anything. Is there anything else I can do besides reinstalling my OS? Link to comment

Someone who doesnt know his mobo model and just goes and buys a card is usually recipe for failness Do you have onboard graphic... If you bought a prebuilt you prolly do..use that.. Do you hear an unusual beep when you start the thing??? When exactly does it crash??? And yes did you plug in the card to the PSU (i dont know this card but Im guessing there should be at least one pcie (6 pins) plug) What card did you have before?????? If you have a older prebuilt there are good chances it doesnt even have a pcie plug /sadface 210 is crap btw.... Link to comment

Do what Wrath said, if nothing is showing up when you use onboard graphics then it wasn't only your graphics card that got fried. (might even just be your motherboard and you'll find out your old graphics card works fine). Nvidia 210 doesn't have direct PSU power as far as I'm aware? (it's a tiny little card) Link to comment

Someone who doesnt know his mobo model and just goes and buys a card is usually recipe for failness Do you have onboard graphic... No If you bought a prebuilt you prolly do..use that.. The computer is custom buildt Do you hear an unusual beep when you start the thing??? No. When exactly does it crash??? After it says "Windows didn't start correctly, what would you like to do" And yes did you plug in the card to the PSU (i dont know this card but Im guessing there should be at least one pcie (6 pins) plug) The card was installed correctly. What card did you have before?????? GeForce 8600 If you have a older prebuilt there are good chances it doesnt even have a pcie plug /sadface - Not a prebuildt. 210 is crap btw.... Agreed, it's so I can get on my computer and do my homework and stuff. I'm currently in the procuess of building a new computer. I don't have a buildt in Graphic card, it's the first thing I looked for. Edited March 22, 2010 by Crimson Link to comment
