Sound Settings Won't Save

Well, I've been trying multiple things to get it to save. First off, I had the error that "exec userconfig.cfg: file size larger than 20MB." I googled it, and found a fix. (Had to simply put some text into userconfig.cfg.) But, now, I don't get any errors.

 

So here's what I do: I go to the options, check sound, change it to 5.1 Speakers, and click apply. I check console, and this is what it gives me:

 

Speaker configuration has been changed to 5.1 speaker.
execing userconfig.cfg
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/config.cfg

 

Then, if I decide to exit the option, its immediately changed back to "2 Speakers". I checked - all the files in the config folder are not read only - and to double confirm that, I'm not getting the read only error. I'm really not sure what's wrong anymore. Any tips?

Maybe google the console order to change that and then write it in autoexec? Just a nab idea
