try using TuneUp Utillies 2009 or 2010, i know its not freeware but it works really good, it also free's up disk space, you wouldn't expect it to free up so much space, a mate used it once and he free'd up bout 5 gigs

My cousins computer was "messed up" so I went over installed this, and used it to fix the registry (noobs be installing things as they hold the power button) and it fixed it. It also fixed a problem of mine I had a while ago with the registry. It can speed you computer up, depending on the problem.

 

Also, how did it free up 5GB?

when you browse the Internetz, you always and everytime download temporary files they get stored onto the HDD whether you want it or not, but at a certain point if you don't clean it up, it takes up a lot of storage, but since they are temps, yo ucan delete them anyway and TUU does this for you
