I'm pretty tired of the way my pc is acting for the past months.. I get a maximum of 25 fps in css when let's say walking in a tunnel, as soon as i stand out in an open area however it drops down to 9-12 fps not to mention having a gunfight in the open wich will have me cope with

So I have 220 Euros to spend on parts to upgrade my pc but all i want to know if wether i just fucked something up in my software or is my hardware slightly outdated?

here's ma rig (used everest)

graphics card : nVidia GeForce 8500 GT

processor : Intel Pentium 4 630, 3000 mHz

Motherboard : Asus P5GD1-FM

RAM : 1024 MB

I also have 2 hardrives with windows and most apps loaded on the smallest (80 GB)

and steam and various other apps on the biggest (120 GB)

please help me out I'm growing rather tired of this omputer and am at a point where I'd simply pick it up and throw it out of the top window ...

PS: need anymore info just ask

your computer is useless....

I dont think that sticking a ATI 5770 in there will really increase your performance especially for CSS

Your socket (seems to be 775) is the same as some of the more recent CPUs but I dont know that it would support them maybe a dual core like E5300

Shadow can give you more info maybe..this is old technology I got interested in computer later on

Save more money and upgrade the whole thing is my advice

At least you would have to buy CPU, motherboard, RAM and PSU all at once.. AMD would be you best band for your buck...

something like this

or

if you need micro atx

At least least youd have a better performing computer over all

now I dont know websites and prices in your country so thats your job..

this is you can afford

thanks for the quik and usefull advice and i will be sure to make use of it, besides that i think ima wait just another month or 2 to save me up some more so i don't have to post something like this again within the next three years ;p

three year on a 250 bucks budget will be hard!!!!!!!!

Id say at minimum, to get back to where you are now, if you want a three year comp youd need at least 600 bucks...

I really think that it is something to do with your software. I suggest re installing windows. I know for a fact that your computer should be getting more FPS than that. I was getting that on a laptop that had a GMA950, aka the worst thing known to man.

If you do plan on upgrading I think that you can re use your 120HD and possibly your 8500GT until you can get a better one. I suggest you get a good, low cost dual core that can overclock good, like the E3200. It is only $50 and can go up to 3200Mhz on stock cooling. Also, get a decent, but inexpensive motherboard that can overclock somewhat good. About $90. And get a good set of ram, about $90.

Give me a website that you want to buy your parts from and I will tell you some things that are good to buy.
