Anyone using a big monitor/tv for gaming? What's it like?

I invested in a 32" which will be arriving tomorrow. Just a little worried about how good it will be for gaming..

I do. And it's actually exactly 32"

It works well. Really well. Just don't sit too close to it.

And make sure your computer is HDMI compatible.

In my experience, I use my 32 inch HD t.v. just for console games, single player/ps3 type games and movies on my ps3.

I would never use a large monitor for gaming such as CS:S/MW2/ect. ect. simply because it's too much to look at, your eyes begin to wonder the screen as opposed to being able to stare where you're aiming. I'm not saying it's not doable, I just wouldn't if you expect to do better or something, cause you more than likely won't.

You've seen me play, I'm not really competitive except when it comes to Surf. I just thought I'd put my PS3 & PC together into one monitor. It's too late now anyway so I'll just have to see how it works out. If it comes down to it though, I've still got the 19" monitor.

Also bigger monitors mean bigger resolution which puts more stress on the vid card which can affect fps. I ont know how much this affects it tho..

I am using a 19''. Its a perfect size

i have a 24" monitor but still play only windowed at 1024x768, and like xeno mentioned, you wont be able to focus at points on the screen while keeping the rest in mind, but a 30" monitor, not a tv screen, with 2560x1600 resolution does have a niche for use in visual computing
