Funny Laptop Noise...=(

So I just turned my laptop on, it went normally enough until right before grub boot loader came up at which point my laptop began making this weird squealing noise. I, of course, hit the power button shutting off my computer. I then restarted and about the same time it started making the same noise. But this time I continued with the boot up, once my computer loaded windows 7 the noise stopped, and I'm typing this on my laptop right now. So any ideas what could be making this noise?

 

All I got is either hard drive or fan? Any other ideas?

 

If you think its the hard drive, how long do you think I have?

must be linux not communicating properly with the laptop fan, prob run it at full speed or something odd

to be safe I would back it up. It depends on the noise. Also, if you can plug your hard drive into your desktop, then see if it makes the noise still.
