Bilbo Baggins Posted April 7, 2010 Content Count: 326 Joined: 08/29/09 Status: Offline Share Posted April 7, 2010 So I just turned my laptop on, it went normally enough until right before grub boot loader came up at which point my laptop began making this weird squealing noise. I, of course, hit the power button shutting off my computer. I then restarted and about the same time it started making the same noise. But this time I continued with the boot up, once my computer loaded windows 7 the noise stopped, and I'm typing this on my laptop right now. So any ideas what could be making this noise? All I got is either hard drive or fan? Any other ideas? If you think its the hard drive, how long do you think I have? Link to comment
