Buy a new graphics card and power supply. Sorry but really I've got nothing. At the end I was running in DirectX7 mode at 1024x768 with all settings at minimum and special custom models that were really bland and boxy to try and stay over 40fps. Link to comment

For instance, a GeForce 8800 probably runs better than a GeForce 9600, even though it's newer. And, as Shadow said, probably a new power supply to power it. Link to comment

I just use my second monitor for extra productivity personally. Even my 6600gt had no problems gaming on one screen with just windows and 2d stuff on the other. sure in general, but maxxing settings on games like BF:BC2 or newer games and still having secondary monitor does add a penalty hit its not egregious, but the weaker the card the more likely that hit will be more annoying. running 200+ fps in css with all settings maxxed is as we all know not going to stress most year or 2 old video cards even if you tried in most situations.
