I have never had good luck with good performance in NVIDIA cards. Just got a 5750 and love it. Definitely recommend it. Link to comment

I agree with the 5750 for anyone that reads this. Link to comment

Unless you have a watercooling setup, no thanks. Lol. I just installed mine in the new computer i built yesterday. It doesn't really run that hot, once you get ample cooling.. which you should do regardless of how warm something runs. I'll post pictures later today, including some of the card close up so you can see it. Idk about other brands, but EVGA learned from the 295 that these cards run crazy hot, so they put a gigantic (4-6 inch) heatsink over the whole card, and then a heatsink over the chip with big ass heat pipes coming off of it. The 5970 is the 5*** series' 4870x2 which has two cores which counts as two cards for cross firing so with 4870x2's or 5970's you can only crossfire 2 cards; and if im correct the 5970 also takes up 2 pci slots so you would be able to have 3 in your computer but only utilize the three cards since most cases have 7 pci slots. You can card quadfire with single core cards but you cant card quadfire with 5970 because it exceeds 4 cores. core quadfiring can be done with 2 5970's or 4 single core cards. so you can quad fire with 2 5970s or 4 single core cards.
