TNT Posted May 20, 2010 Content Count: 441 Joined: 04/07/09 Status: Offline Share Posted May 20, 2010 it is that simple. i promise. if you have a creative sound card, check there for boost as well. No offense, but you deserve this for such a smart-ass remark: if you "knew how to use a computer", you'd never ask anything, ever. Ahem. The mic is fully turned up in steam, the game I am using it in, and windows. The microphone is right next to my mouth and I use my on board audio port. Edit: XP Link to comment
Labarr Posted May 21, 2010 Content Count: 3052 Joined: 08/30/09 Status: Offline Share Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) Go to Control Panel > Hardware/Sounds> Manage sound devices > Then look for a Micrphones property tab and then look for a "levels" tab and adjust the slider all the way up. Also when your going through these steps, make sure nothing is muted And if that doesnt get you there, try this Windows XP Open volume control options properties recording, then OK. change that slider. Please do not fix the "problem" On a serious note.. depending on the soundcard it may have a separate control panel that could need to be adjusted. Or you may just need a new Mic.. have you tried it on another computer? Link to comment

TNT Posted May 27, 2010 Content Count: 441 Joined: 04/07/09 Status: Offline Share Posted May 27, 2010 Well, nothing seems to be working. My only option left, I guess is to return the mic for a new one. Hopefully it won't be so quiet. Link to comment
Chobber Posted May 27, 2010 Content Count: 2186 Joined: 05/07/08 Status: Offline Share Posted May 27, 2010 I had the same problem with my first mics ... Well, really all the mics I have used that are analog (minijack / stereoplugs).. I have onboard as well.. I resulted in buying a USB headset instead.. Works like a charm, only with a little static, afaik.. Link to comment
