Bob Loblaw Posted June 1, 2010 Content Count: 3697 Joined: 01/07/09 Status: Offline Share Posted June 1, 2010 Jesus christ where the fuck do i start? (ignoring your stupid ass a2 and b2 (which i had to decipher to mean a^2 and b^2 before it even kind of made some glint of sense) basically, your stupid ass "proved" what we've known for centuries. any number multiplied by 0, is in fact 0. also, if you go to a REAL school, a D IS failing. yeah, you get "credit", but a D is a 69 or less, and you pretty much have to take the class again. Uhm, actually if 2a=1a then you can simplify that to 2=1... He's not wrong there.. This is what bugged me the most. (Of course I assumed you mean 2a, when you say a2.....) a2 means a squared, not 2a. I'm pretty sure everyone's seen this many a time before, but I'll explain it anyways for those who don't know. If a=b, a-b therefore =0. Now, divide both members by (a-b). Means you are dividing by 0. You cannot divide by 0 in math. Link to comment
Wrathek Posted June 1, 2010 Content Count: 1839 Joined: 09/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted June 1, 2010 i already made a mention of it all manipulating zero. i was proving it was incorrect beyond the division, because it still is. yes, you can divide both sides by a, but there's no point. if 2a =1a, then just subtract the a from the RHS. TNT Posted June 1, 2010 Content Count: 441 Joined: 04/07/09 Status: Offline Share Posted June 1, 2010 Let a = b now, a2 = b2 = ab a2 - b2 = a2 - ab (a+b)(a-b) = a(a-b) Now, divide both members by (a-b). a+b = a a+a = a 2a = a 2 = 1 Where is your God now? According to this equation: a2 = b2 = ab, A would have to equal 2 as well as B. Therefore, you cannot complete this step: "Now, divide both members by (a-b)." because it would be dividing by 0. All of your logic is wrong. Watch. 1/0 hwVyXgbaXHs Link to comment
