Heh I suck at drums, and bass is a great instrument, though half the time I look at demos of basses I'm like "OMG STFU" (Probably cause they don't play the bass in a metal way). I found it easy as hell to find the tone I wanted, where as if I played guitar I'd probably never find the perfect tone for me. My setup for my bass currently is, Peavey amp, and digitech death metal pedal(hard to get a good tone for guitars with it, but sounds amazing when using with a bass.) If I ever get my recording equipment I'll see about doing a demo of it if you'd like.

How big is your amp XD?!

The louder the better!!!!!!!!

Yeah I started with guitar then my friends were talking about creating a band and they still had bass and drums open so I figured, with my practice with guitar changing to bass would be easy, and then I found a really nice bass for 140$, it's a brownsville 5 string and I have no idea what pickups are in it, but it sounds really awesome =D

ive been playing guitar and drums for about 10 years each. the band im currently in i played drums for for 4 years (2000-2004), then i moved away, then ive moved back for a short while so for about 8 months ive been on guitar with the same band. only the lead singer and me and i guess the keyboard player are the original members. 2 guitarists, bassist, drummer, sax/flute player, trumpet/keybord player.

we play at the same bar once a month. id sure like to play more often, but 5 of us are married (me not included) and 4 of them have kids (and 2 of them, grandkids o.0) so its more of just get together and jam kinda thing. if i can dig up a decent quality vid of us at our bar, ill put it here. ive taken several but they tend to be shit quality.

chobber is also in a band, pretty good one too. he posted a vid in off topic a few weeks ago.

im always trying to write stuff and a few months ago in off topic i put up a drum and a guitar vid. if any of you have any way of recording your instruments, i encourage you all to do the same! im working on some other thing that hopefully in a few weeks ill put in there. that section gets a lot more hits than music, and i dont think the admins mind since theres mostly junk threads there anyway.

oh yeah, here's what i use in the band. guitar is a schecter c-1 classic. amp is a head from the 80's, a peavey VTM-60. if anyone know what a marshall jcm 800 is, this was peavey's version of that amp. the cab is avatar and the speakers are celestion g12k-85s.

im into metal mostly, so my guitar collection consists of a 7 string and an 8 string!

Whoops! Didn't see this thread..

Yeah, I am in a band.. Though at the moment we scrapped our name and brand and are going undercover for about a year to write completely new music..

The thing is that we're hooking up with a management bureau in the beginning of 2011, cause he likes our project.. His bands are all touring europe and the US, maybe you know some of them.. Here is a list:

- Dúné (touring the EU, mainly Germany)

- The Kissaway Trail (toured the US this spring, also touring all over EU)

- Kiss Kiss Kiss (touring the EU)

- And like 5 more that are mostly known in denmark..

Anyways.. He likes our ideas for new music, and he would love to kick us into the mainstream if we can provide the correct music!

We have a totally unknown sound in Denmark (well, duh, we've all heard Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and those buttheads, but we got a different aproch to it)..

He will hook us up with a DK tour to begin with and as warm-up at some concerts with around 5-10k people(!!!!!!)..

So for the next 6-7-8 months we only have 1 gig as the old band (Right Up Your Alley), and in the meantime we are gonna write completely new music!! We already have 2 new tracks, and our goal is to have 6 by december, so we're on the right track!

Oh, anyways! I play the bass and sing backing vocals.. We're 4 persons; 1 guitarist and leadvoc, 1 leadguitarist and backing voc and 1 drummer also on backing vocs...

We are also kicking in with some random synthesizers here and there...

This is gonna be so epic!!

You can check 2 of our old songs out on http://www.myspace.com/rightupyouralleyband (though, I was not their bassist at the time)..

I used to be in a couple of bands back in the day. I was a rhythm guitarist for my first band and doing screaming vocals for the second band. My vocals were kinda Atreyu style... We had a clean vocalist and I did the screaming. We never really made it far, just did a bunch of covers and wrote a couple of songs of our own.

That's something I'd like to avoid, we all agreed on only covering Davidian by Machine Head for now, but other than that we are working on our own stuff.
