You will be limited if you try to add a gpu later on... So let me put it this way: if you buy this I think you will be satisfied but if you think that one day you might want to add a GPU go with the corsair because you wont have to buy ANOTHER PSU then.. Also corsair is awesome and rarely deceive their customer and I really like their reliability and the 5 year warranty (if I remember correctly).. they back up their product I dont know much about antec in that field Link to comment

trakaill Posted June 15, 2010 Content Count: 3736 Joined: 11/30/07 Status: Offline Share Posted June 15, 2010 you should be able to use higher end stuff without a drop in performance, you really wont see the drop in performance but the psu will start getting hot... are you going i7?? as long as you dont OC and use only one GPU you should be fine! Can you sly/crossfire with your mobo??? yes they get very hot. but they don't affect the ambient of the case nearly at all. Like, they designed the card to run at 90C under load, but the card doesn't like shove that 90C into the rest of the case. Link to comment

KScorp Posted June 15, 2010 Content Count: 470 Joined: 04/04/10 Status: Offline Share Posted June 15, 2010 should I downgrade to a Antec 520 For that price, I think you'll be happy. Judging from the review Trakaill posted, you shouldn't have any problems with it. would it affect my performance Nope. It doesn't matter if you downgrade your power rating, as long as your computer won't use that much power. Your computer should fall well within the 520W rating. how much would it affect my options of expansion for the future? You can't SLI or Crossfire with it, and the enormous graphics cards might be a bit out of its league. But it will handle your 5850 just fine, as that card will use a maximum of 151W. There is plenty of room for extra hard drives, disk drives, or anything else for that matter if you plan on getting them. (Just not an extra graphics card. ) Link to comment
