(I'm not kidding. The new one is only 1.5 inches shorter, that's the only difference. Compare: 9800 GTX+ vs GTS 250) But it's a very good graphics card, handles everything I throw at it very well. Dual-core CPU is fine for a gaming computer, no problem there. Only big concern is the 2GB of RAM. That will not be enough for even CSS unless you use XP. And a nightmare for any video editing program such as Vegas. Luckily, it's easy to upgrade RAM. Hopefully it has a 64 bit operating system, in which case you can go with another 4GB of RAM (for a total of 6GB), but if you have a 32 bit OS you can only upgrade up to 4GB. It's a fine computer for a great price. (When I bought my 9800 a bit ago, it cost $200 by itself...) However, I strongly recommend more RAM if you are using Vista or Windows 7. Otherwise, I still recommend at least 1 more GB of ram. Video editing needs it. 1 Link to comment

Oh, the ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211066 Yes, that's the one you need. $45 for 2 more sticks of 1GB. 4GB will be fine for you. 1 Link to comment

Jager Posted June 17, 2010 Content Count: 1300 Joined: 06/24/07 Status: Offline Share Posted June 17, 2010 core 2 duos do best with dual channel memory in a single mem set configuration, so IF you can afford it grabbing 2x 2gig of ddr2 ram is better then getting 2 more 1 gig sticks and trying to use them. it forces the motherboard to treat the ram with 2t timing, which is slower, might not be as noticeable in gaming, but will be for vid editing. any 2x2gig sets with ddr2 800 timing is ok, but they should be no more then 100 bucks for a set. 1 Link to comment
