The other advantage is that there are plenty of AMD 3 chipset motherboards to select from. This is a baseless statement, minus the fact the Phenom II is cheaper. Every i7 chip is superior to the Phenom II X4 series in performance. It is more cost-effective, that's all though. Your statements reek of bias. As far as the 5970 goes, no. It is currently the flagship card and thus overpriced. The performance gains for the increase in cost is simply not equitable when compared to even the two next fastest cards, the gtx 480 and HD 5870. Link to comment
