Internet Lag

Guys, I have been playing some steam games that I use to run fine but for some reason I am lagging like crazy. My ping says like 20-35 ping on the server score menu and when I look at net graph 1 I see my ping spiking too enormous amounts, please help. I am guessing it is not my computer because I have an Asus G60VX and it can handle these games with ease.

Knowing the answers to these questions could help identify the problem.

 

1) are you playing on a wireless connection?

2) Anything running in the background?

3) Do you have some kind of anti-virus type software?

4) Have you changed anything hardware related recently?

1) Yes I use wireless Connect

2) I run Steam, Xfire and Stuff that is needed to run

3) No I do not except for my firewall

4) Not that I remember

 

I was thinking about resetting my whole computer and seeing if that works.

Who else is on the wireless network with you? Is it password protected?

Wireless is the problem, not your computer.

 

Xfire isn't needed to run steam either, I'd close everything except for Steam.
