Toxin Posted July 2, 2010 Content Count: 2115 Joined: 05/06/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) Yeah, my friends computer... Core 2 Quad 2.8GHz 4GB DDR 2 RAM Corsair TX-650W. A default-clock 4670 gave him better FPS than a default-clock 5770 on identical settings. Any ideas anybody? Edited July 2, 2010 by Toxin Link to comment

Well, off the top of my head (my friend is not on right now) We tested (on 1600 x 900 res) -TF2 (DirectX 9) - 4670 outperforms 5770 on all High, without AA, and with AA, trilleaniar filtering. -Counter Strike:Source (Direct X 9) - All high, no AA, 4670 outperforms 5770 on all high, trilleaniar filtering. -BF:BC2 (DirectX 11) - All High, with AA and without AA, 4670 performs on par with 5770. -Modern Warfare 2 (DirectX 9) - All High, with and without AA, 4670 performs only very, very, slightly below the 5770 (probably around 5 FPS). Identical idle and load temperatures. Link to comment

Im still learning in that domain but wouldnt the 5770 perfome better with directx 11... and I thinks its somewhat normal that the card performs btter with the lower end games.. as you said MW2 the 5770 was ahead which I think would be the case with most newer games!! If its still holding up (or rather the 5770 isn't performing up to snuff) install a different set of drivers.\ EDIT: A 5770 is NOT a good card, its just a DX11 card versus a DX10 card, they're clocked the same and the only place the 5770 outshines the 4670 outshines is the number of stream processes, but that gives you less edge than you think.
