phatman76 Posted April 1, 2008 Content Count: 602 Joined: 01/21/08 Status: Offline Share Posted April 1, 2008 okay, top 5 best pc games EVER. This is a timeless list. 1. Half-Life (not only was it one of the best games ever, it also spawned the best online series [cs:s] ever and excellent sequels). The gold standard for the fps. 2. Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri - the standard by which all turn-based rts games are judged, and one of the highest scoring PC games ever on most records sites. Gold standard for turn-based strategy 3. Command and Conquer (both original and red alert) - let the rts really spread its wings on the PC, laying a game foundation for all that is holy in rts games. Foundation for RTS genre 4. Counter-Strike - the definitive, groundbreaking model of the online fps game. All online fps games follow in its noble footsteps. 5. Doom - that little game that made all violent video gaming possible. Link to comment

Jewbot Posted April 1, 2008 Content Count: 39 Joined: 02/24/08 Status: Offline Share Posted April 1, 2008 1. Battlefield 1942. I played this up until Battlefield 2 came out, and even past it. Mods such as Desert Combat and Forgotten Hope were absolutely amazing, and really kept me playing. 2. Half Life 2. With the Source engine and all the mods spawned from it, this has to be my new favorite game to play. 3. Half Life 1. Really set the standard for First Person Shooters to come, and the mods that came out of it were very fun. 4. Starcraft. Best RTS, enough said. 5. Rainbow Six Vegas. I originally started out with this on the Xbox 360 and loved it, then eventually bought it for the PC. The guns, the AI, the combat, made this one of my top games of all time. Link to comment
