With the parts you gave to start out with, I think it's impossible to go under $1000 unless you skimp on everything else. I was able to keep it under $1200 however.

Your motherboard is overpriced and I wouldn't suggest Asus to anybody after experiencing their RMA process.

I honestly suggest a case with vent filters, it keeps you from having to do nearly as much maintenance, but Antec 900 is a good deal, so that'd be $905 total, only good place to save money is buying a cheaper version of your GPU or getting a cheaper card entirely.

 

Also investing in a CPU heatsink is a good idea.

this, but it made me rage, I have a heatsink pipe running the perimeter of my CPU and I broke it trying to install mine lol.

 

Also drac make sure you don't buy that mobo you still have listed, its for i7s.

You're better off realizing he decided to trust some of the more savvy members of the forums to investigate this for him, and if that was a veiled jab at my competence you may want to look at the graphics card, IT'S ATI, YOUR FAVORITE!
