New mute script works within PB

I can simply nuke PB from orbit and leave it til last to update if you all prefer. I have more then enough on my plate, and PB isnt playing nice with Sourcemod so I was up until noon today from 6pm last night working on it. yeah thats 18 hours straight on getting pb to some semblance of working order. I want those hours of my life back.

you do realize that since you are doing ZERO work and spent a week or more complaining that mute did not work anymore and "ZOMG PB IS TEH BROKES /slashwrist" That i could care less if you get a console message when each player is unmuted when mani cant get simple cvars to work right in PB.

 

I found a work around as requested anyway even though its a waste of goddamned time. since Valve borked 98% of the plugins out there. PB can be the redheaded stepchild again and left to rot til I am done with 3+ pages of other work/conversions of plugins as was recommended by most people.

 

Take your pick I personally have no qualms about hitting the delete server button and restarting the damn thing when I have even the time much less the energy to turn my pillow to the cold side and deal with that festering herpes blister of mishmashed plugins and bad code.

 

TL:DR if you are doing no work and have complained that your X plugin isnt Y perfect as it used to be, blame valve take a chill pill and let me finish my 1 man complete overhaul of the communities backend services.

You want to help then find scripts that do work since the valve updates have been nuking most scripts/mods. No one is stopping anyone from finding a script, mod, skin, map that will help improve the servers. It's just when people offer these and they get rejected, they get butthurt and stop trying to help after that.

Because you guys are unaware of how much work actually gets put into the servers so instead you bitch, QQ and demand shit to be done that isn't always possible. So we just roll our eyes and stop informing you of anything.

p3rg3 you are more then capable of looking for a mute script you like, seeing as all you have done to this point is complain and not offer anything to help, then at the very least start phrasing your issues civilly.

 

saying "hey this script seems to be spamming console commands in public alot, is it broken?" versus this is broken whine whine fix it or take it off now. YMMV with others, but I guarantee you one answer gets a civil reply from me where the other simply makes me look at the time/energy to cater to a generally very immature group of people on a very poorly built mod with terribly complaint to player ratio, and think to myself why bother.

 

I have asked for beta testers for weeks, asked SA's to step up and find mods to fix issues they see, even went as far as grabbing People who play PB religiously to test the mute script and adjust it. they had no issue with the chat spam.

 

sorry YOU aren't happy, but to make the mod the way you want, I would have to stop the public Admin power on use logging, which we will not do. its a side effect of SA's abusing their powers so much that we cannot hide admin commands from the public view. or we cannot ever catch bad admins.

Mani has a bandaid fix but we arent keeping mani.

 

If you want to be civil and act like an adult in this as you said "friendly community" then start posting civilly and not demanding fixes to problems,(mute script on PB) then being pissed when the fix adds something else that isn't great.(chat spam)

I am capable of looking for a mute script, but nobody cares anyway.

I've offered my help multiple times and never heard anything back so I assume you guys are good at this point.

 

I thought my posts were fairly decent and I didn't demand anything at all.

I just pointed out that something wasn't working great, if you guys would've said ''we know, but it's just temporary'' then I would've been happy.

Instead I get bitching from higher ups that I should shut the fuck up and do it myself.

If you choose to decide that I am not listening , That is on you. I just find your total disregard for whats actually going on (there are about 6 threads running around with info so you should know all about the swap overs, the server issues, the fixes if you read them) as a sign that since you dont give a shit about what I am doing, then conversely I don't need to give a shit about your issues in the middle of already working to fix them. I am doing this despite your utter lack of respect and comprehension. that doesn't make me better, that just makes me /facepalm when you post

The main issue with your post was that you very obviously did not read Jagers entire post. He said it muted T's, you said it was randomly muting people when it's SUPPOSED to do that. Which was my first eyeroll at you, then you said it needed to be fixed or taken off completely. Obviously if you read the first post you would know it was supposed to randomly mute people, so the only thing that needed to be fixed was it spamming chat. Then it brought up the fact that PB is still on Mani, and we're switching all the servers over to SM. Knowing SM and Mani work the same but also quite differently, I assumed there would be a mute script already for that.

 

Now we're back to being able to voice mute users on SM with the test server, but it spams the chat and the only fix found so far is one that is not applicable. So Svendy found a fix for your original problem, only to not really have found a permanent fix since mani is on the way out and the fix used was for mani only.
