P3rg3 Posted July 7, 2010 Content Count: 1484 Joined: 06/18/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 7, 2010 The main issue with your post was that you very obviously did not read Jagers entire post. He said it muted T's, you said it was randomly muting people when it's SUPPOSED to do that. Which was my first eyeroll at you, then you said it needed to be fixed or taken off completely. Obviously if you read the first post you would know it was supposed to randomly mute people, so the only thing that needed to be fixed was it spamming chat. Then it brought up the fact that PB is still on Mani, and we're switching all the servers over to SM. Knowing SM and Mani work the same but also quite differently, I assumed there would be a mute script already for that. Now we're back to being able to voice mute users on SM with the test server, but it spams the chat and the only fix found so far is one that is not applicable. So Svendy found a fix for your original problem, only to not really have found a permanent fix since mani is on the way out and the fix used was for mani only. Then you didn't understand what I meant. It IS randomly muting people. Today it muted CT's after the new round started and other people didn't get muted at all. That's not how it is supposed to be, I thought. But yeah like I said, I didn't know it was a temporary script. I'll wait. Link to comment

Jager Posted July 7, 2010 Content Count: 1300 Joined: 06/24/07 Status: Offline Share Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) I talk to anyone the same way i talk to you if you give as little helpful info in the beginning as you did. you were right up there with a dracula "No" post. if you want me to help you, give me data, and examples. I can do things with them, and tbh if you did you wouldn't come across as sounding like you were complaining As for whether my Tone/Attitude will get me bitten in the Ass as you imply, It already has, I got promoted to doing all this work for no pay. This is how the script is designed to function, (it does so in SM, mani is a whole other mess) The script calls three things. A. if you are a spectator you are muted same as a T. if you join the game mid round regardless of the side you choose it mutes you until round end. B. if you are a T you are muted at round start for 15 seconds, and if you die (or trigger any "death hook" even if it glitches and you dont die.) you are muted. CT's are muted at death. and unmuted as soon as the round restarts. If you trigger a death event in mani that does not kill you but does attempt to (like trying to slay a zombie on escape), you can be muted as well. If any of those things are not functioning or are doing other weird things then explain specifics as to when it is happening and to whom as best you can. if you can take screen shots if that's easier w/e but i need to see causal issues before I know where to start. kool Posted July 8, 2010 Content Count: 429 Joined: 10/21/07 Status: Offline Share Posted July 8, 2010 I think I know what P3rg3 was talking about. I have no idea how scripts work and all, so I don't know if this is easily fixable or not. Hopefully, if this is what P3rg3 is noticing, it could be fixed quickly. It appears at the beginning of a new map, for the first round, everybody is muted even if they are alive and being a CT is not an exception to this muting. The only exception are admins and maybe people that were not in the server before the map change, I'm not sure. I've had to unmute every person that was alive, so that the script could work the way it was intended to work. Apparently, if someone is already muted when alive, they'll be unmuted when they're dead and then they'll be re-muted when they come back to life. This could be a small problem that can be fixed easily, I don't know, but without an admin in PB when the map changes, everybody will be muted unless they rejoin. It looks to me that this script just mutes people without checking if they were already muted before or not, so while the script is trying to mute somebody that is already muted, it ends up unmuting them instead. I've also noticed that the script sort of interferes with admin powers. When we mute someone, for whatever reason, when they're alive and that person dies, the script will do what was mentioned above and unmute the person. I haven't seen how the script reacts when the person is muted when they're dead, but I assume it would unmute the person at the beginning of next round, like how it's supposed to for the normal players. 1 Link to comment
Jager Posted July 8, 2010 Content Count: 1300 Joined: 06/24/07 Status: Offline Share Posted July 8, 2010 ok that is a mani specific issue, since SM has different commands that can handle the script but I will yank it off for now then. Link to comment
