PotshotPolka Posted July 28, 2010 Content Count: 6084 Joined: 03/31/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 28, 2010 the 460 definitely beats the 5770 but 5770 will probably last longer by not over heating and exploding lol, ive always wanted to have a usb powered easy bake, i guess i can just use the GTX 460 + The version of the GTX 460 he is purchasing has an excellent heat sink and will likely have better temperatures than what we see here. Your prejudice against Nvidia cards is shown by your inability to actually READ benchmark reviews. The 460 isn't even in the same CLASS as the 5770, it's more accurate to pair it with the 5830/5850. This is why even though you have some advanced knowledge in PCs your opinions are disregarded, you compromise your integrity with your juvenile bias and cannot be trusted to offer help without slant to our users. lol i think your all mixed up go for the g.skill 1333 ram cause its imo the best ram for gaming, thats all you need to know. if anymore is said you might get even more confused uhm, you are aware G Skill has 1600 RAM for $10 more right? well sry for having a life, that doesn't involve PC's and everything, i don't read everything you know, i was just referring to what you said earlier this month ^^ This is the tech section we (well the people that offer objective, constructive help as opposed to fanboy bigotry like a certain somebody I just quoted) pride ourselves on our knowledge and we strive to help people. I have a Q9550 CPU and I love it, but I won't suggest it to anyone because for the same price you can buy a i7 920 which is out of the box superior to it. 1 Link to comment

The 965 is worth the $20 difference assuming you're not into overclocking. If he's into overclocking he wouldn't need our help to select parts, and would know what type of parts to buy. Other than that youve been helpful On the other hand Zealot didnt say anything about him wanting to OC until later on..which I then got on your side about it..so yeh.. Link to comment
Zealot Posted July 29, 2010 Content Count: 1765 Joined: 02/04/09 Status: Offline Share Posted July 29, 2010 Besides being cheaper is the mobo going to last me longer than the 890? I'm thinking of using this build as a base for the next 5 or so years so I don't want redundant parts later on. I'm not going to skimp on the more important parts if I don't have to but I'll consider changing the mobo. I had the arctic cooler at first but then I read some reviews on the 212 and I sold. Isn't a smaller fan louder? They are also pretty much the same price so it doesn't matter that much to me. Other than that I appreciate all your guys help so far, the new egg forums gave me like 2 helpful posts -_- Link to comment
