Spjerre Posted July 18, 2010 Content Count: 537 Joined: 10/01/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 18, 2010 Hi! I've got Dexter and Cougar Town on my computer and I got dvd-rw discs and want them on them so I can watch on a TV without using HDMI. I've never burned a dvd or cd or anything close to it, and I need some help getting started. Now I don't need to do this for a living or anything so I just need to know how to get a video file from my computer onto a dvd disc so I can pop the disc in the dvd and watch it on the TV screen. I hope someone can help me do that Link to comment

You can't just burn it to disk with Nero or something because it's not in the right format. It needs to be converted to be playable. It has a built in burner too. Link to comment

So you're saying this program does it all? Is it easy to use cause I tried nero version something and it was simple enough but I'm not sure if I did it right and all. I tested on one but I think I did it wrong since it wont play on the dvd Link to comment

You choose your video file(s), create a menu, chapters and whatever, and it does it all for you. otherwise, the general gist of it all is that you need to convert a video file into DVD files (most of the time a vast array of .vob and .sub files etc.) nero or something like suggested earlier are by far the most reliable, because it is done automatically. it only becomes slightly complicated if you're trying to hard-code subtitles. Tweezy Posted July 20, 2010 Content Count: 3791 Joined: 08/08/09 Status: Offline Share Posted July 20, 2010 If you are using Win7, you can simply pop in your DVD/CD into your disk tray (Making sure it's a writable disk drive!) Then you can simply copy and paste your files into the blank disk, then hit "Burn to disc" it's a selectable button. Link to comment
