The cable I ordered was a wrong one too

So I sent it back to america.

er.. did you click the link? thats exactly what it does. it goes into the ipod dock connector, and converts it to a 3.5mm female jack, so you can plug in a pair of headphones.

ok. you got a new ipod, thats cool. but for future reference, a 2 pin 3.5 mm audio jack cannot and will not carry the same data as a 15-pin dock connector
