I would not buy an 1156 processor, ever. Main reason being your limited to one graphics card or an X8 X8 setup because on 1156 intel limited the number of pcie lanes to 16 and all the new gizmos like usb 3.0 and sata 6 gbps (which is a little silly) use pcie for connectivty till they're integrated onto the chipset. While for most people this probably won't effect performance too much if at all it really makes me not want to risk limiting myself. here's a great tom's hardware article which explains what I'm talking about Link to comment
