I agree with Potshot's post except I prefer Corsair PSU over OCZ, but it's all about the fanboy opinion.

dual cores are still a smart buy for now, if you think this desktop is going to last a long ass time, maybe you could pump it to a Phenom II X3 at best, but going Quad isn't worth it if you're gaming small time, even the high-end games like Crysis 2 or Bad Company 2 aren't going to push you that hard, but if you want to stay top dog, get the X3 top price.

I'd recommend sticking with the HD5770, it's a super amazing buy right now, no fucking joke.

Another thing is that Potshot's ram link is currently unavailable. I personally don't think ANYONE needs 4gb ram if you just game, I'm sorry, but it's true. I've been running 2GB for 3 years now and don't think you'll need more than 2-3 if you are just gaming. Dual channeling is nice though.

Are you just trying to aggravate me now? You're doing a good job.

its funny because my pc uses 40% of my 4gb on windows 7 with steam loaded and maybe chrome. 10% for games? Tf2 brings my ram to 70% and I've hit higher than that. 4gb is the only way to go.

And yeah youve ever used a computer with 4 GB?? Cause its not comparable to 2 even for more basic task like gaming
