ReGIONALS Posted August 18, 2010 Content Count: 1844 Joined: 07/27/08 Status: Offline Share Posted August 18, 2010 I agree with Potshot's post except I prefer Corsair PSU over OCZ, but it's all about the fanboy opinion. dual cores are still a smart buy for now, if you think this desktop is going to last a long ass time, maybe you could pump it to a Phenom II X3 at best, but going Quad isn't worth it if you're gaming small time, even the high-end games like Crysis 2 or Bad Company 2 aren't going to push you that hard, but if you want to stay top dog, get the X3 top price. I'd recommend sticking with the HD5770, it's a super amazing buy right now, no fucking joke. Another thing is that Potshot's ram link is currently unavailable. I personally don't think ANYONE needs 4gb ram if you just game, I'm sorry, but it's true. I've been running 2GB for 3 years now and don't think you'll need more than 2-3 if you are just gaming. Dual channeling is nice though. i game and run 8 google chrome tabs in the background at almost all times, sometimes ill be running two games at once and i use about 2-3.5 gb of ram while doign that, the ram i have is 6gb triple channel 5-5-5-15 1600mhz do the math and see what would happen on 2gb of shit ram. hell you need 2gb just to run vista Link to comment https://forums.steam-gamers.net/topic/33987-recommend-me-a-pc/page/3/#findComment-442624
