I didnt bother reading all this nonsense but whether you like high or low sensitivity a high DPI mouse with a low ingame sensitivity will give oyu better results than a mouse with lower DPI and higher sensitivity.. just sayin. Bottom line if you have money get 5600 DPI no mater what!!

 

That's true, however, most mice with an extremely high dpi have a problem with negative acceleration if they are moved too quick and suffer from skipping. Also the user doesn't benefit from extra dpi and a low Sensitivity. A mouse with 900 dpi and an in-game sensitivity of 1 is just as smooth and accurate as a 5600 dpi mouse, however the 5600 dpi mouse requires less physical movement to rotate to player 360 degrees. The myth that more dpi improves your accuracy is untrue, because you can only be accurate down to a pixel on your screen. A mouse can't give you sub-pixel accuracy. the only time that more dpi benefits the player is if they play with a high sensitivity. A high sensitivity in-game and a 900 dpi mouse equals pixel skipping and a loss of accuracy. This is where a high dpi mouse comes in handy. High dpi just doesn't benefit low sensitivity players, as you can't be any more accurate than a pixel. Tons of people still swear by the old Microsoft intellimouse 3.0, which has 450 dpi, and is just as accurate and buttery smooth at a LOW in-game sensitivity as a Razer Mamba.

My point is, is that low in-game sensitivity players shouldn't waste money thinking that a high dpi mouse will help them. I had to learn this the hard way

as soon as you increase from 1 you profit from a higher DPI mouse! I play between 2.5 and 3 and full DPI on my G9 and I get much better result than I did with my stupid microsoft.

Im pretty sure windows sensitivity also relates to your ingame sensitivity

lol, I game with a sensitivity of .8, with my Razer Deathadder set to 900dpi instead of 3500dpi(to reduce negative accel), and yes, at a sensitivity of 2-3 and more, the extra dpi is appreciated greatly and brings up your accuracy because your cross-hairs are no longer skipping pixels on-screen. And as far as the windows mouse setting goes, i left it at default(no filtering or interpolating), that sensitivity adjuster is a monster and really messes everything up.

Holly shizzel!!! I always tough I was one of the lower sensitivity gamer... I cant even imagine playing with your mouse!!

yeah I left windows default as well but the newer windows have this mouse precision enhancement which I have no idea what it does

I ordered a G9 from Best Buy for $35 like two weeks ago but they sent me an email yesterday saying it was out of stock and wouldn't be replenished (got it off outlet) and they offered a replacement G9X (Apparently costing $99). I called em up and got the G9X and it'll be here by the 20-25th of August. I'm pretty happy about that.

The enhance pointer precision ticbox. Microsoft has to make funny names for everything......but anywho, that ticbox just controls the mouse acceleration, and if left unselected, acceleration is disabled. Most people want this disabled for gaming, its pretty unsmooth and jerky acceleration.

I REALLY recommend this. It's slightly over your budget, but it's definitely worth the money.
