Movement Posted August 5, 2010 Content Count: 1465 Joined: 07/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted August 5, 2010 I want to talk about this topic because after seeing the following threads being bumped or people a making new thread and then flamed: http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?p=472924#post472924 http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29955 http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37904 Hank's post explains it well. This is where problems ensue. It goes down one of two pathways. 1.) Make a new thread Get told to use the search function 2.) Use the search function, find a thread you're looking for. "Bump" it Get flamed Get told to read the previous post date The last post in that thread was in April. If he was to bump it, You know exactly what would happen. We need to either stop flaming people for bumping, which makes more sense imo, or stop flaming people for making new threads that already exists. Link to comment

Those are the ones who get flamed. Ive bumped plenty of old threads and not got flamed only because I post something that is highly related to the topic such as news on the topic. 2 Link to comment
Wrathek Posted August 5, 2010 Content Count: 1839 Joined: 09/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted August 5, 2010 what drox said. i complained about the bumping because i saw like 3 separate times this morning of that dude bumping old threads with worthless nonsense just to get his post count up. i probably wouldnt be the first to complain about not searching, as in the mindfuck thread, but like pot said over there, since they were relevant, he could just say "bumping bc i like these and want to see more, so here's some i found" Link to comment

Repus Posted August 5, 2010 Content Count: 1802 Joined: 04/05/08 Status: Offline Share Posted August 5, 2010 Bump rather, there is still difference with good and bad bump. Bad bumps are theese short pointless posts like "lol, thats funny" or if the post is about something that is not relevant anymore like "e3 2009 is coming soon". Link to comment

HankTheTank Posted August 6, 2010 Content Count: 1236 Joined: 08/14/07 Status: Offline Share Posted August 6, 2010 You have to take in consideration, if someone keeps bumping threads like an idiot, they`re probably going to be flamed because they're a fool. If one was to bump a thread saying "lolololol dis iz kewl KEKEKEK" over something like "Well, this is rather cool, and they've updated this, this and this. Pardon the bump" Though, I still do agree with my post in the other thread, and the one that was quoted, but again, it's all conditional. Link to comment
