Mac's + Other stuff

Well it's almost school and this laptop is almost done.

Its been though a great deal of viruses and crashes.

 

I'm taking 6 media classes that all involve graphic design.

 

So right now if you have a mac, what programs should i buy with the mac?

I'm talking about the mac laptop/notebook.

 

ATM i know i will be getting CS5.

Get free software like GIMP and Paint.net. If you have the cash you might want to get Photoshop. Which you said you are. But you really shouldn't get a mac D: all this software is on Windows as well. There are certainly a lot more apps that you'll want here and there, but from my point of view those are the only ones I really know that are mainstream.

What can you do on a mac that won't work on a pc? You can buy a better laptop for cheaper price, that will render quicker and whatever that fancy art stuff is. Maybe look into buying a nice wacom tablet?
