So i'm going camping in a few days and i have a few anime torrents.

The videos are sub'd in English but the default is non-sub.

Is there anyway to convert the videos to mp4 and for the files to show the subs by default

Re-encoding to allow subtitles would be extremely annoying, maybe if you use a DVD Player it should allow you to load subs? I know that your PC can do this with apps like KMPlayer, VLC Player. Xbox 360 can also do this aswell, dunno bout PS3 though.

it is possible, as jazzyy said, but a pain in teh ass it is. also i don't think a normal dvd player would play MKV's or somesort, only avi's that i know of. alos no PS3 can't do this, it can only read avi's, i think.

but as i said, it would be helpful if we know what type they are.

but there is a program called AllToAvi, this program allows you to convert the mkv to avi and add the option to hardcode the subtitles.
