Hey guys, I need some help. I was wondering how I could play xbox using my computer monitor. My input is DVI and I have no HDMI on the monitor. From using a little schematic sort of thing, I would need to spend $46 USD on this sort of thing.

List of things needed:

2 Adapters

3 HDMI Cables

1 Switch

1 RCA to Stereo splitter

I got everything from http://www.monoprice.com

Is there an easier way to do this that doesn't require a lot of effort and waiting for products in the mail?

You really have a cheap monitor.. get one with a dvi and hdmi input, use the dvi for the computer, and the hdmi for the xbox. Switch between xbox and pc with by choosing either dvi or hdmi source the menu on your screen (could be a button idk, mine has touch screen)

My monitor is a 24'' Dell and is perfectly fine and not even a year old. I'm not going to waste my time and money to buy a whole new monitor when the one I have isn't broken in anyway

I was thinking of doing it this way as well. Each one is going to cost pretty much the same. Looking at my monitor it has both DVI and VGA inputs. My DVI is hooked into my computer but the VGA is free.

While my cousin and uncle thought of the first idea. Torn between the two and getting a new monitor is out of the question. I just want to play Halo Reach in high quality and not on a shitty screen.
