What would the computer specifications be? Like ram, CPU, etc.

Uhh....

Going off from what Potshot listed:

AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 Desktop Memory (RAM)

Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 Video Card

CORSAIR 450W PSU

Did you even bother looking at the parts?

I was able to raise my budget to 800 and got the following items:

I already put everything together last night, this morning I plugged it into my monitor and turned on the power. I just went to BIOS and set it to optimal default settings, saved and exit. When it starts up again it says "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key." I don't know what to do. :help:

What does your boot config look like?

This is an example of what we need to know

You also have to check if your hard drive pin is in the correct position.

To do this you must:

1. Turn off computer

2. Unplug power supply

3. Press power button to get rid of power left in computer

4. Ground yourself by touching a unpainted metal part of your case.

5. unplug hard drive and remove it

6. Check pin position " refer to hard drive manual" it should be in master mode.

There could be other reasons for your issue but check these two things first.

I'm not 100% sure what your asking on the first one, but it looks like this:

My hard drive didn't come with a manual. Aren't I just suppose to connect my SATA data plug to my motherboard and my HDD, then the SATA power from the power supply to the HDD?

Raise nothing, you lowered the goddamn quality of the build I suggested (with the exception of the RAM). You bought a POS power supply from a sketchy brand, a bargain bin videocard that'll keel over on anything more intensive than COD4, and a microATX board which means you probably had a bitch mounting the damn thing in the case. Why should we help you if you ignore us?

To answer your question even though you've royally pissed me off.

If you've plugged in the HDD then fuck all, you did that correctly. dimm switches are for PATA HDDs anyways, they aren't used anymore for SATA HDDs (at least not WD) We are talking about your MOTHERBOARD. Go to your manufacturer's website, which WILL have the manual for it, and it WILL have somewhere in the table of contents a page listed saying something about "boot device priority". When you get there it's a matter of clicking and moving with the air keys. To boot from your windows CD (which you need to do for an initial install) just move it to the top of the list. It'll be DVD/RW or D:/ or something along those lines.

Actually I had no voice over what parts were given. My dad, apparently, gave the entire trust on some guy who worked on computers. Who not once in his life was a gamer and did not feel to listen to anything you listed Pot. So, I say its a waste of money, but I didn't have a choice. So, apologies if this was upsetting to you.

Also: Whats wrong with the video card? I don't see anything significant that would make it worst. Once again my first time, don't get mad at me. :ohwell: Since there is a warranty on the video card I can always return it.

Well congrats, I now feel like an asshole.

In many ways they're roughly the same quality, but it's DX 11 versus DX 10

Thus, on newer games it will likely have better performance, but a 250 really is underpowered for a brand new system.

DX 9/10 Crysis

Far%20Cry%202%20No%20AA.png

DХ 11 Far Cry 2

In fact after reading up I think I'll suggest the GTX 460 to people now over the R 5700, it's just far superior for a similar price.
