Hi!! All he told me was to keep it under $1,500 and build it for him. This is what I have.

Case

HDD

Monitor

GPU

Optical Drive

PSU

RAM

Mobo

CPU

CPU Cooler

SSD

So the grand total is: $1,500.40.. but if he wants to deal with the rebates it'll be $1460.40

Pretty sure this will work... What do you think?

From all my reading:

Get a WD Caviar Black

Get a bigger monitor to utilize the video card you have

Dunno if he wants more processor power or not but i7 950's are about $300

OCZ vertex 2 sandforces are the best in SSD right now

Thx for the suggestions. I'll look at what you said tomorrow and see if I can change some stuff...he doesn't mind if I OC the CPU so ill keep that i5.

Thanks

That Hdd is great .. as good as the caviar black but if I remember on the bench the CB might pull ahead but really unnoticeable to the average user

I personally have a 23 inch monitor and Id hate to have something bigger my eyes can barely cover this one..

The i5 is nice on a moderate budget I think its great..

Cant say which ssd is best as I havent read much about them..

I think you have an awesome build... the only thing id do is cash out another 40 bucks for a modular PSU

You wont regret it I promise..or he wont but your building I guess..

And Id spend the 10 bucks for the 902

But your call Have fun!!

Ill ask him about the modular PSU. If he doesnt mind spending the extra 40 then ill go with it.

Thanks for your input and suggestions!!

For a slight drop in performance in your GPU you can save a lot of money or jump up to a higher performance card for a few bucks.

GTX 460 $180

GTX 5870 $365
