Discuss your preferred style of music when it comes to playing an instrument or even singing. In no specific order: Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Disturbed, Korn, Slipknot, All That Remains, Machine Head, Scar Symmetry, Solution 45., Hypocrisy, Damage Plan, A Dark Halo, Static X, Iron Maiden, Five Finger Death Punch, Death, Megadeth, Insomnium, Fear Factory, Universum, Survivors Zero. I play bass and my preference of playing is much like that of Killswitch Engage, fast with a mix of melody, and my vocals are quite built around KSE as well, I in no way want to do a complete cover band of KSE, they've just been very inspiring when it comes to playing. The bands that I colored are the ones I like out of the ones you mentioned. When I first started listening to metal, it was 80's thrash metal like your typical Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, etc... My personal favorite sub genres of metal are thrash, death/melo-death, British new wave, and industrial. Link to comment
zoidberg Posted October 3, 2010 Content Count: 204 Joined: 07/02/09 Status: Offline Share Posted October 3, 2010 I grew up listening to whatever was on the rock/metal radio station. And then there's a long story behind getting more involved with Metal, and eventually lead up to the idea of doing a band, sadly of which is not going well because of distance between us, but we hope to make music our profession. EvilShadow98 Posted October 4, 2010 Content Count: 1157 Joined: 01/06/10 Status: Offline Share Posted October 4, 2010 2 of my friends wants to start a band, but after being in a couple of bands while I was in high school and them failing, I kind of don't want to do the whole band thing again. I play my guitar out of just enjoyment now and like to come up with my own stuff from time to time. Link to comment

Bob Loblaw Posted October 19, 2010 Content Count: 3697 Joined: 01/07/09 Status: Offline Share Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) AMAZING SONG: A GREAT SONG TO WORK OUT TO: JuknCTmwtG4 Also listen to Soilwork guys. AMAZING. And they always progress. It doesn't all sound the same. One of my fave bands is soilwork. Christian Älvestam has the best voice in the world IMO. You know you're epic when it takes 2 people to do what you did, except they still do it worse. Edited October 19, 2010 by Bob Loblaw Link to comment
