I know somebody with that i7 core, he said it's not used that much because there is no need to except you use it as a server. And that could be it's only purpose atm :s Link to comment

That was great until I clicked the last link.. I guess you dont hang out in here enough but if he picked out a corsair PSU its for a very good reason!!! And that is that it is the only thing in there than can burn everything in your PC maybe even your house... so yeah coolmaster GL!! And garf save yourself the money by not buying a useless unrestricted multiplier CPU because I doubt youd ever OC over 4 Ghz, which the 930 does beautifully right up to and a little over 4!!! Needless to say to get it to 3,3 would be a joke... Edited October 12, 2010 by trakaill Link to comment

I wouldn't know, but I doubt having a coolermaster over a Cosair when the pricing is so alike is going to be the difference between my house burning or not...... Corsair is probably one of the best brands that you can go with for power supplies, as is OCZ to an extent. Lux trust me on this one I have had nothing but bad luck with coolermaster PSU's - i'm sure there are others here who have had similar experiences.. Good choice on a modular PSU though. Rule number one, never buy products for their brand name. Rule number two, disregard rule number one and always buy Corsair PSUs. Call me a fanboy, and I know there are a handful of similarly priced PSU manufacturers that have a record about the same, but Corsair PSUs are competitive in pricing and have yet to meltdown in my case. I like the rest of your selections, but prices won't dip until 3-4 months after the new cards roll out. Just don't skimp and buy a cheapy, you'll regret not buying a decent card just save a few bucks. Link to comment

Well I spoke to my friend about it and he said he and his brother have the same PSU and it's more efficient (for the price), cheaper and silent...... I guess if it's known by some to have problems I'm taking a risk but I've bought it already now so I'll just hope that it doesn't fuck up.... I've not got any major money constraints I just didn't want to go overboard...but I've got a good amount left to spend a new card. But despite all that thanks for all the suggestions guys. Zealot Posted October 13, 2010 Content Count: 1765 Joined: 02/04/09 Status: Offline Share Posted October 13, 2010 I've heard bad things about OCZ Psu's IF you have a big case (the lengths of the cords are short). As for Psu noise/efficiency, you can't go wrong with corsair or seasonic. Newegg has a tiered list of their top Psu's in terms of efficiency, failure rate, quality, etc. I bought an XFX because it's basically a remodelled seasonic M12 I believe, plus the green looks fucking cool. Most Psu's are silent anywhozzle. Link to comment
