Forum suggestion

I don't know if this is the right section for this, and I also don't know if this is coming in VB4 or if anyone else really cares about it, but what do the higher ups think about having like a general search function? Maybe like a box on the side that says "Search" in giant letters so we don't have any difficulties with overlapping threads.

 

This would probably be helpful for finding members too, because I know I have found more than once that I will be looking for a certain member or something...

you mean not a thread search but a member search? Since we do have a thread search function on these forums next to new post at the top.

Exactly, just like a complete forum search. Especially members.

Well most officially SG members have atleast 1 post which is requesting membership, so usually if you search a persons name in the thread search it should come up.

In the thread? I'm not sure if thats what you meant but I'm talking about like from any page just a giant search button. Idk...lemme know if this is a stupid idea. Just throwing it out there.

Search > Advanced Search > Search by username in the top right.

 

Switch it from posts by user to threads started by user.

Then it will find any thread they created and their name will be right there to click.

If they haven't created a thread they probably aren't important
