Can a powered USB hub be a bus powered hub if I don't plug it into the wall? Or does it NEED to be plugged into the wall in order to function at all? Thanks. Link to comment

External powered hubs do 500 to each one. So it depends what you're powering. I was just wondering if it *could* draw power from the laptop instead of the wall if not plugged in. Link to comment
