SgtJoo Posted January 7, 2011 Content Count: 2034 Joined: 03/02/10 Status: Offline Share Posted January 7, 2011 And with the first pick of the NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select.... Jake Locker, Quarterback, University of Washington. *Boos* Doubt it. I think AJ Green or Nick Fairley... You can always suck again next year. Actually we just need a good QB, all the other parts are in place. Isnt Cam Newton most likely going to the draft after this year? If so Panthers will probably pick him up. Doubt they'll pick him up, would be a huge reach at number 1. Wut? Highly doubt that. I don't know if it's really for a heisman run either. He wanted to finish out his education and enjoy his college days apparenly. Seemed pretty sincere, but nobody knows for sure. He might've just not wanted to come to the east coast and is banking for a west coast team to pick him next time. Don't think he's coming anyway. Even with him we'd still rape you. Not really, just need a QB and we're set pretty much. Who actually watches football anyways... The hell are you doing in this section then? Link to comment
Razaroth Posted January 7, 2011 Content Count: 62 Joined: 12/07/10 Status: Offline Share Posted January 7, 2011 all the parts are there for the panthers? i thought they had a pretty rough defense. 7/14 of their losses with the other team scoring 30 or more points, and only 1/14 of their losses with the winning team scoring under 20 points. If your defense was top notch, youd have won more games. a first year / new QB / ANDREW LUCK wont do that then. your best chances lay with picking up vince young. now -THAT- would make carolina an interesting team. (excuse me if that wasnt what youd want to hear) secondly, cam newton... he might be really great in the college era, but the top of the top in college is what everyone is in the NFL. Remember what happened with tebow? expect nothing close to that for cam newton. He will be a back within the next 24 months, as depressing as it is. also, what the hell are the odds of a lockout? Do you actually watch the games? How many teams have a defenses would allow less than 30 points in a game where they are on the field almost 40 minutes and up against great field position because your offense doesn't move the ball at all? Also, what do you mean look at what happened to Tim Tebow? He played pretty good QB the last 3 games for the Broncos. Cam Newton is a huge QB with a lot better throwing arm than Vick, Young or Tebow had in college. He will be a QB. Edited January 7, 2011 by Spiffy Link to comment
Razaroth Posted January 7, 2011 Content Count: 62 Joined: 12/07/10 Status: Offline Share Posted January 7, 2011 of course that factors in -HUGELY-. odds are you guys had the least amount of first downs over the entire year. but what im saying is, andrew luck coming in wouldnt have solved any of it. and im also saying, in my opinion, the "more offense helping the defense" is great, but you guys need touchdowns. other than the bills, you guys have the hardest division, hands down. i think this is a perfect time for you guys to pull a redskins and grab a seasoned quarterback thatll lay you down a couple of years good service. Except, dont get McNabb. edit: also, i wasnt saying your defense was horrible, im just saying you arent the ravens/jets. Link to comment

Our OL will be more healthy this next year and he is good enough to take advantage of team stacking the box to stop our running game like they did this year. Think of the Ravens before they drafted Joe Flacco, our defense isn't quite that good but our running game is much better than theirs was. Link to comment
Razaroth Posted January 7, 2011 Content Count: 62 Joined: 12/07/10 Status: Offline Share Posted January 7, 2011 the ravens getting joe flacco, in my opinion, was VERY stupid though. if the panthers had the reciever firepower that the ravens had, even with clausen, you guys would have won a lot of games (i hope). if the ravens dont win the superbowl (i predicted they would) with MASON, Boldin, and Houshmandzadeh, it can only be Flacco's fault. or bad luck. NOTED, the panthers reciever core is talented and younger and will be ready at the PERFECT time (when you guys have a quality quarterback, which i hope clausen becomes)... i sure as hell hope you guys get someone better than flacco. or at least, less volatile. edit: cause ill be honest. the falcons and the saints piss me off. if you start taking them out, we might become best friends. Wait a second, you are saying that is a very good receiving core? Mason is old, Boldin is a little overrated and Housh is WAY overrated. Not to mention I said compare us to the Ravens, not compare Luck to Flacco, as Luck is much better. I also have yet to see what talent anyone sees in Clausen. He sucked at ND and he sucks now. Oh no, we need some quality FA signings and time for rookies to develop but other than that all the pieces are really in place. We're not exactly lacking in quality players (despite going 2-14, trololol). Link to comment
