Just like the BCS doesnt count past national championships for teams in the past. The team however does count them, but the league chooses not to. Link to comment

The Super Bowl is its own Championship, it is no way affiliated with the NFL or AFL Championship games. You can use it for bragging rights, but unless they played against a team or a team that was around back then that your bragging to.
