Last I check EA is still pumping out games like there's no tomorrow. EA/Activision are publishers, and big enough that one bad game doesn't hurt them. Like I said, it's the little people that get hurt, Black Isle Studios, Pandemic Studios, etc. They all burned for a reason, not to say piracy was the main factor for these two but rather it is the LITTLE PEOPLE WHO GET HURT. Don't judge the game industry by publishers, if you do it looks like gaming itself is in GREAT shape. Until you look at the developers and their situation (Infinity Ward, anyone?) Link to comment

What about everyone else that bought the game? Do you think that EVERY single person who is buying the game should pirate it? If not, then that's not a fair deal for the person or the company. They don't make the same profits. So you can still pirate Dead Space 2, right? What about all those small company indie companies. I'm sure it's okay to pirate from them even though they're still starting out. Link to comment

You're proposing a hyperbolic scenario which is likely to never exist. The amount of pirates will never exceed the amount of people who 'legitimately' purchase a video game. The video game industry/pirate relationship can be seen as commensalism. In biology this is a "relationship between two organisms where one organism benefits but the other is neutral (there is no harm or benefit)." Link to comment
