And about Admin voting: -There SHOULD be open votes for anyone SA+ -The vote itself should NOT decide the outcome, but merely add general opinion -AO+BD's should make every final decision. Simple. 2 Link to comment
*Queen VenomousFate* Posted February 27, 2011 Content Count: 2306 Joined: 02/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Veteran members get more permissions and recognition. But most of them might not be as active, and thus we will not give them any task at all. We'll listen to their advices, since they have earned the right to be heard.. Thanks for answering, I get ignored much less now that I am Queen. Two followup questions. Would Veteran Members also be likely to be Forum Moderators? And Also you mentioned the "Top Tier" leadership. Can you please explain this new bastion of power? Before we had the Board of Directors at the top with only the President being above them. Now as far as I can tell it looks as though you have put another pseudo-usergroup above the BD's (i.e. Top Tier) presumably with you as the President on the very top. What is this new "Top Tier" in relation to to the Board of Directors, and what does it mean for the Board? On another note, I noticed Jen is not listed as an AO. Did you simply forget to include her or is she no longer an AO? (I got yo back Jen! No one likes to be left out.) Edited February 27, 2011 by *Queen VenomousFate* Link to comment

He said he won't be around too much once everything gets started, so I'm assuming all those people have the same power he would. Link to comment

Like, member A would be President - Forum Management , member B would be President - Server Management ... etc etc. This would be discussed today, and announced in 1-2 days. Link to comment

Amit Posted February 27, 2011 Content Count: 488 Joined: 02/06/11 Status: Offline Share Posted February 27, 2011 I agree popularity contests aren't a good thing, but let's be real here. If nobody likes you, should you get admin? No. Because there's probably a reason nobody likes you (either you're a troll, you are incredibly stupid, you are annoying). All are traits we DON'T want in admins. If you are popular, should you get admin? Not necessarily, but in most cases yes. There are certain people that are liked, and that just would not make good admins. These are exceptions, but why are you friends with most people? Not because they are trolls, not because they are incredibly stupid, and not because they are annoying. You're friends because they have traits that make them a good person. SA isn't rocket science. Qualifications don't really come into play. It's their personality, because everyone can learn the commands for SA. It's whether we think they are smart enough to use their powers wisely etc etc. We should go with potshots idea. I haven't seen PotShots idea...but in short, this is what the intentions re - 1- BDs confirms the credentials, history and tech know-how of the candidate. 2- If the candidate qualifies above, the community confirms his popularity. In the end, we get a capable and popular admin. Every's happy. So, wht the fuck is the problem here? Link to comment
