Bilbo Baggins Posted March 12, 2011 Content Count: 326 Joined: 08/29/09 Status: Offline Share Posted March 12, 2011 best way imo is with compressed air. You really don't need to do it much, maybe once or twice a year. 1 Link to comment

Saliva from your mouth could be blown into the computer and could short out a component. Best way would be what Bilbo said. And about twice a year should be enough. Link to comment
Spiritwind Posted March 12, 2011 Content Count: 1263 Joined: 02/07/10 Status: Offline Share Posted March 12, 2011 How often you need to do it is all depending upon your location. A place where the humidity is really high should only require you to do it once or twice a year, a place where its really low is maybe once every month and a half, however you could go almost a year without noticing it. It also depends on your cooling system. The best way to do it is compressed air, however there are cleaning pads that do not conduct electricity that work almost just as good - just takes longer. 1 Link to comment
Coffee Crisp Posted March 13, 2011 Content Count: 4960 Joined: 06/20/07 Status: Offline Share Posted March 13, 2011 I like to use those swiffer wipes that pick up dust. I don't really use compressed air cans but they sound like they would be useful for tight spots. If you want a thorough clean I'd take out the stuff you can take out easily like the CPU Fan (varies), GPU, RAM, Hard Drives (varies) and wipe down the spots where they're kept. I usually clean my computer case at least once or twice a month doing a light clean that takes like five minutes or a heavy clean that takes more than twenty minutes. 1 Link to comment
Ronen Posted March 13, 2011 Content Count: 720 Joined: 03/10/10 Status: Offline Share Posted March 13, 2011 Just got this today: Dear EVGA Member,, Thank you for your purchase from EVGA! We like to make sure that you are receiving and will continue to receive a great experience with your EVGA product. Have you looked inside your system recently? Dust can be a tough foe against your hardware and EVGA is here to help. Take a few minutes to open up your system and make sure your system is running clean and cool at the same time. Here are some simple steps to keep your EVGA product running for a lifetime of use. 1. Every 30 days get some canned/compressed air and clean out your system. Dust can cause heat issues which can lead to hardware failure if not maintained and cause an unwanted RMA in the future. Remove your components one at a time to thoroughly clean them. Take the time to keep your system clean and keep it running. 2. Preventing dust is just as important as keeping it out of your system. Some cases have built in filters to prevent dust and build up from entering your case. Make sure to clean or replace any filters to maintain good clean airflow into your EVGA system. Don’t have any filters? Take a look online for some simple ways to add filters to your case and keep it clean. 3. Running water cooling? Have you flushed your system recently? Water cooling can become a nightmare if not maintained. Make sure to flush your system to prevent mold, algae and build up from creating complications. Make sure to clean your system fans at the same time, blocked air flow on your radiator can cause just as much trouble. Following these simple steps to maintain your EVGA system will improve your gaming experience and keep you fraggin’ for a lifetime. Thank you, EVGA Customer Service Link to comment

Eldest Posted March 13, 2011 Content Count: 2686 Joined: 03/22/08 Status: Offline Share Posted March 13, 2011 Usually I use a vacuum cleaner and some cotton swabs. Sometimes I unscrew the graphics card and the HD so I can access the dusty places more easily. 1 Link to comment
