Hell no! It really does depend what you want to use the CPU for, modelling/Game design - Intel because of their technology. I would always go AMD for gaming though.

 

Read the internet it has answers... if you find an article than contradicts my statement I will gladly admit I was wrong...

I'm inclined to agree with Trakaill, on this one...

I myself have 2 AMD computers (a laptop and a desktop both decent-ish gaming rigs) but a good Intel processor does beat the AMD equivalent though performance wise...

Although AMD is cheap and does perform well if you are looking to save some cash go AMD

But if you want more bang for your buck definitely go for the Intel processor

 

Same deal with GFX cards IMO just replace Intel with nVidia and it is a similar situation

Seriously??? Where did you come up with that fact??? Since when is AMD better for gaming? again read the previous post.. find support for that statement... Ill gladly admit I was wrong...

For one the core clock is a lot faster on the HD6990, ATI has double the cores, memory clock is better, not to mention it has 1GB more memory and is nearly £100 cheaper.

 

Oh yeah, if you try to overclock the GTX590 it blows up;

Oh wait, thats GPU's...

 

CPU's, meh AMD and Intel have their own pros and cons, it seriously depends with what you want to do though.

 

Gaming - AMD - same performance for half the price.

Game Design - Always Intel.
