Amit Posted March 29, 2011 Content Count: 488 Joined: 02/06/11 Status: Offline Share Posted March 29, 2011 I plan to join you guys on CSS from next month onwards. Now, I cannot play on my Mac or the laptops, since those are configured for work. So, I'll be buying a new PC for gaming and other stuff. So, plz suggest me your dream configuration for a PC I should opt for..... How is this Alienware @ Dell ? Or am I better off with an assembled system ? Price won't matter since I'm most likely to take it on credit and pay over a period of many many months ( including a few defaults on payment ) Link to comment

I dont know why people are obsessed with the six core crap. Read on the internet. Yea gaming wise they will be close but anything else the i7 or i5 are superior. To improve your gaming experience you need a good GPU and thats a whole other story. well here's a PC that will get you along for years to come: CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103849 CPU cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154013 MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402 RAM:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145314 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127555 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006 HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112249 DVD drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106334 total price: $1156.91 feel free to edit some things that you want to change i.e. the case and what not. PotshotPolka Posted March 29, 2011 Content Count: 6084 Joined: 03/31/08 Status: Offline Share Posted March 29, 2011 If you want a laptop, the G73 is a workhorse for only $1200. Otherwise, we have like 30 models people have pieced together in older threads, the only thing you'd have to change is the gpu from say **70 radeon or *60 Nvidia to the latest models. Link to comment

You built him a budget gaming PC when he could spend more and get a better machine.. lol and you're not an intel fanboy then? instead of bitching about whats good and whats not, put 1 together yourself and let him choose. the 6950 is a good GPU, as i stated if he doesn't like it or want to change some shit, he could. it's not like i said that he has to buy the rig i put together for him. he said he'll pay it with monthly payment, so $1156 is a good price, but geez don't go over the top and put a system together worth over $2000, that he has to pay off for months to come. Amit asked us to put something together, don't like it, put something else together and leave this thread open to suggestions and not whining like little kiddies. Link to comment
Amit Posted March 29, 2011 Content Count: 488 Joined: 02/06/11 Status: Offline Share Posted March 29, 2011 Whoa....no need to fight....or argue. I appreciate all the suggestions really. My budget is ~3.5-4k , since it's going to be a one-off buy....and I will not be looking to upgrade the system for the next 1-2 yrs.. As I said, I'll be paying this is very easy installments, so it wont hurt my pocket. Prices for the components are very similar in India to what they are in the west....so, please take this ballpark figure and suggest a PC configuration. Thanks.. EDIT: Polka, I'm not looking for a laptop. I find it a bit difficult to handle the touchpad all the time Link to comment

I find it a bit difficult to handle the touchpad all the time should've asked for a budget in the first place, now people can really put together a good system. so i won't build him a budget PC since i know he has a huge budget. so no stress trakaill Link to comment
