Whoa....no need to fight....or argue. I appreciate all the suggestions really.

My budget is ~3.5-4k , since it's going to be a one-off buy....and I will not be looking to upgrade the system for the next 1-2 yrs.. As I said, I'll be paying this is very easy installments, so it wont hurt my pocket. Prices for the components are very similar in India to what they are in the west....so, please take this ballpark figure and suggest a PC configuration.

Thanks..

EDIT: Polka, I'm not looking for a laptop. I find it a bit difficult to handle the touchpad all the time :(

About the touchpad, you can just buy a mouse for it, and that part won't be a problem ;)

IDK...I worked on my dads macbook, and though it feel slick in the beginning, it was a bit too 'sophisticated' for my liking. It might just be my personal preference, combined with my inability to take care of a laptop...that I now prefer to work on a desktop.

Ahh, I see :) Taking care of a laptop can be a bitch sometimes, yesterday I dropped my moms laptop, then she got mad :( So I get why you prefer desktops.

Not stressing son.. Im just saying I read the OP and went from there, seemed like you skipped a part. Anywho now you are getting somewhere. But I still wouldnt cash out so much on the CPU and spend more on the GPU like regional suggested but I think Id choose the new architecture !!

Therefore a different MOBO

The cases he mentioned are great as well. I dont know that I would choose that cooler but I have no time to suggest one right now!

Also you need thermal compound.

TBH I think 4k isnt necessary o the rig itself Id spend some money on a nice monitor and gaming stuff... and definitely a good pair of headphones

I finlly ordered my PC today. I could not go for an assembled one, since it would have meant paying lots of cash.....whereas my idea was to use my credit.

So, Dell it is....
