Okay, so I have a Intel i7 870 QCP (2.93Ghz, 8MB cache) with the socket LGA1156; I am looking for a better method of air cooling for the CPU, the stock cooler just isn't sufficient for the job.

It typically idles around 40 degrees celsius, and gets quite hot in-game. Any assistance with finding a good alternative would be appreciated.

well this isn't really an aircooler it's a closed circuit watercooler, which needs no maintenance and doesn't require a refill and such, it costs a bit more then a normal air cooler.

it's also really quiet and keeps your CPU at low temps:

or if you don't wish to have a watercooler, this is a good 1 too:

Do you want air-cooled or water-cooled?
