Botnet Infiltration triggers Ethics debate

If someone can uninstall/remove botnet software from your computer (essentially dis-infecting it) without your knowledge.. Should they??

 

I think this is an interesting ethical question..

If someone can manage to access MY computer remotely, period, I personally will be pissed.

 

The point is.. IF your computer was already hacked by someone running a botnet and being used to attack other computers/send spam/etc. And then - an anti-virus company for example was able to remove/disable that botnet software that had already infected your computer .. well.. Should they?
