I use Norton 360 5.0, protected me from quite a few web attacks when browsing google images and a rootkit.

I have nortorn 360 as well on both my pc's I love it imo. The only thing that pisses me off with it is it detects some downloads as malicious sometimes if they have low userbase's and you have to click a "Trust" button that helps future users. It also sometimes detects certain file types as malicious and deletes them upon download so you have to turn it off and download it.

Norton is seriousley awesome. It blocks every attack that you get, its pretty cheap for a anti - virus and its well, good enough to keep you save =D

I honestly despise Norton 360 more than McAfee, both suck up completely unreasonable amounts of PC resources and they are both expensive. I've used a lot of scanners on the market and by far the best free virus scanner I've used was AVG, it's simple, small, and to the point. It's easy to use and has never failed me. The best 'subscription' antivirus I've used has by far been kaspersky, but then again i got it free from a promotion at best buy.

--but honestly, the best antivirus is you. You decide what you download and what websites you visit *cough* so use common sense.

Norton sucks the sweat off a dead mans balls!

Norton has one of the largest if not the largest footprint of any AV out there (meaning: it uses up more of your system resources than any other fucking AV) To top that off I have had to clean off variants of Fake AV 2010 off of at least 5 computers running Norton now. (not my computers I'm not stupid) Every experience I have had with Symantec/Norton products and support has been problematic and ended up being a pain in the ass. In the past I have used Ghost for system imaging and package deployment as well as Norton's AV producsts in an enterprise environment and although there are some things it does well, there are far more that they do poorly or wrong.

Avoid Norton not only does it suck.. but you pay for it to suck.

I use ESET its great for my gaming, it automatically updates its virus database every day so hardly any new viruses could get in. It also came with some helpful tools like SystemInspector (SysInspector) and SystemRescue (SysRescue) The system inspector is a virus scanner for you to use, and SysRescue is a tool that is like Windows system restore but is easier to use and find i also guess it places dates so you can restore back to checkpoints automatically.

I prefer this also as you use a login and password for your virus database (This means if you run out of the 30 day trial, you can just go on the web and find another login and pass which people are offering for free. tl;dr you can get it for free after your trial ended)

I've had bad experiances with Norton, as i get spammed with adverts to buy some of it's crap. Everything i download is some sort of newley developed virus that can give you cancer by just looking at the screen, it also eats up my CPU making gaming so shit it's unbelivable.

Before i had ESET i had Bullguard, it came free with my computer with 90 day trial, and it wasn't that bad, it had most of the steam games that we all play in a Gaming profile, You had to double click it and it'll change it's activity to gaming mode, and with that lower it's CPU to make you lag less whilst still protecting you.

Ok i think thats another advertising Eset, Bullgaurd now i want my money. :d
